“One more pitch”.
LG Twins closer Ko Woo-seok is expected to take a backseat to the first team starting next week.
Ko made his first appearance since being injured against the Hanwha Futures team in the Futures League on Saturday at Seosan Stadium스포츠토토. His performance was one inning of one-hit ball. He threw only nine pitches. His fastball reached 151 kilometers per hour.
In the eighth inning, Han singled to left field and Kim Hae-chan grounded out to the second baseman. He gave up a single to Lee Sung-gon, but got Euros to fly out to second to end the game with three outs.
Manager Yeom Kyung-yup said, “I’ll pitch one more game and decide. He can either come up on the 29th or throw one more game. I’ll leave it to his opinion.”
He continued, “If I come up, I have to manage at first. There is no throwing for a week. It gets better when you manage it.”
After giving up four runs against the KIA in Jamsil on April 30, Go Woo-seok was dropped from the roster due to back pain, but he rehabbed and pitched in the second team game on the same day.
Reliever Baek Seung-hyun also pitched one inning before Ko. He threw 13 pitches, allowing two hits, one walk, one strikeout and one run (earned). His fastball reached 148 mph.
“Seung-hyun pitches one more time (like Go Woo-seok), so he might come up,” Yoon said.
